About This Event
The NSSSI Grand Opening Forum will formally introduce the National Security and Strategic Studies Institute as a Somaliland-based, non-operational, advisory, and research-oriented platform for strategic security thinking, policy analysis, foresight, and institutional learning.
Taking place in August 2026 at Serene Sarovar Hotel in Hargeisa, the forum will bring together invited public officials, researchers, policy practitioners, civil society representatives, media professionals, and strategic partners for a focused discussion on the institute's role and its public-interest research agenda.
Opening Focus
The event will present NSSSI's mandate, introduce its early research priorities, and explain how the institute intends to support clearer long-term thinking on Somaliland's security, governance, resilience, and Horn of Africa policy environment.
